This CD design was created to match the quirky vibe of the album, particularly the title track, Interplanetary Seas - combining illustrative planet and sea elements.

Broadreach is a adventure company that takes teens on exciting outdoor trips. They were looking for some modern tshirt designs to appeal to a young, adventurous audience.

Joe was a 'Jack of all trades' with a quirky personality. It only seemed appropriate to give him an identity that was a bit bold, yet uniquely different from the crisp look of most fashion photographers. He was a bit old fashioned, a lot of fun, and would love to make you a “star.” The specs: The solid red back of the cards were offset, while all other printing was letter pressed. The star shape was punched through business card as well as letterhead.

COLOR. COLOR. COLOR! Hanes Printables division (proud creator of the Beefy T) wanted to hit the trade show circuit with a concept that represented their premium T-shirt color selection. That particular year they had more color selection than any competitor. This poster is designed to hang in screen print shops, measuring 5 feet in height. The folders were created with Velcro back and card holders with matching bags. We wanted to create a visual buzz drawing customers to the Hanes booth.

The purpose of the Paula Deen brand refresh was to modernize the overall brand image. Over the years Paula Deen's image and company have evolved at an accelerated pace. It was time for a refresh. The pan portion of the logo was always a crucial element that we kept and incorporated into a more sleek modern mark that still felt true to Paula’s roots. The simplicity of the circle and streamlined leaves would carry across a variety of products and needs with a modern flare.

Have a heart was a silent auction which gathered the community to benefit it’s local non-profit organizations. We agreed that a simple organic approach would have the most powerful impact. Specs: All typography and illustrations were drawn with pencil, scanned, and assembled in Photoshop. This was printed with two hits of PMS 485 on white textured paper.

Jax & Bones wanted to strengthen and refresh their brand image. The brand was already extremely popular in the community of dog lovers but needed a refresh for their packaging. For the toys we created something fun and bold, using bright colors and graphic treatments. And for the beds we created a system that was more sophistocated to match the style of the beds.

Jax & Bones has such a loyal brand base that they wanted to have some fun around customers receiving shipments. The heart with "It's Here!" was a fun addition. As well as the printing in two colors to match the company's branding.

During my employment at Paula Deen Enterprises, The Lady & Sons restaurant in Savannah GA needed a revamp. I directed a photo shoot to capture new photography that showcased the modern approach to traditional southern food and living - giving the restaurant a breath of new life but maintaining it's warm appeal. We used staff members to showcase the personality of the famous tourist location. We also freshened the exterior with new signage with a rustic neon sign. 

While employed with Paula Deen I wanted to bring a fresh look to the food photography. Food photos were obviously a big part of how we communicated with our fan base through website recipes. By giving the photography a fresh, bright, modern look while also using vintage props and surfaces we could stay true to Paula's roots while broadening her audience to include a younger, hipper group.

As part of the how-to segment of our website we wanted to do a good bit of this content with Paula. Again, we wanted to keep a home / vintage feel while showcasing the brand through a more modern lens.

This series was created to be hung on walls of a Paula Deen Restaurant launched at Harrah’s Casino May 2008. Each Panel is 5.5’ x 5.5’ in size, printed on canvas, stretched, framed and was later painted with additional textural elements. While maintaining the current brand look and feel this series documented Deen’s journey from youth in Albany to celebrity status. This interpretation was an alternative to a more predictable historical time line. One panel depicted her childhood through high school years. A second was of her family, focusing on her two sons. A third depicted her career life.

When I first began working for Paula Deen her ‘retail store’ was a tiny 6’ x 10’ framed space selling spices and tshirts to restaurant guests. A few years later she acquired the space next to the restaurant. From interior paint, packaging, to exterior colors, iron gates made from cast iron skillets and signage... we branded the store Paula Deen. The retail store branding was a collaborative effort in which different areas of the company worked collectively to bring different mediums (product, interior design, and graphics) together to develop a consistent, beautiful experience for the customer.

The Paula Deen website was very focused on creating engaging, clear content for it's huge viewer base. We created a segment of how-to's that someone could look through and easily repeat the process, step-by-step. I art directed photo shoots and collaboratively developed / approved content. It was an important part of our brand refresh to keep a style that had a home / vintage feel but through a modern visual lens that was approachable to Paula's traditional fan base as well as her growing audience.

This project was a promotional piece for a photographer, Joe Comick to showcase beautiful shots he captured in Paris on a shoot.

Specs: Printed on French paper (appropriately). Side stitched with orange thread.

Paula Deen stationary suite was one of the first brand items designed for the corporate sector of the company. Employees needed a business card that was creative, professional, and embodied Paula's southern charm.

Specs: Printed on French paper in Pantone Metallic Inks. Each employee selecting a unique accent Pantone.

As an experiment at PaulaDeen.com, we produced videos internally on a shoestring budget. I shot the video footage and edited with a budget of $40 for food and music. We used stock audio due to cost restraints.
